A long-time Triangle resident (since 1959), she has a wealth of information, insight and knowledge about the Triangle area. Her enthusiasm and adulation of the area are infectious. Jan Knows the Triangle
and Understands Real Estate Investing

Through being both a landlord and "rehabber" herself, Jan understands real estate investing and investors. And, since the Raleigh area is such an attractive real estate investment area due to the continued job growth, she has been invited as a featured speaker at several out-of-state seminars designed for those interested in real estate investing outside their home area. Jan is a member of Triangle Area Real Estate Investing Association (TREIA), the TREIA Rehabbing subgroup and regularly attends both local and national real estate investment seminars to keep up to date with the real estate investment world.

Real Estate Career Profile

Jan's first association with real estate began in 1978 when she joined Fonville Morisey Realty when the company was then celebrating their 5th year. She remained in real estate until 1988 when she began an absence of several years, during which time she recruited computer personnel for hi-tech clients in the Research Triangle Park at the height of the technology boom of the 90's.

However, during this time, she maintained her status as a Real Estate Broker, knowing she would eventually return to the real estate business. And, in 2002 she rejoined Fonville Morisey real estate and a "new way" of doing business with cell phones, email, automated Multiple Listing Service, scanners, computers, websites and blogs. Due to her hi-tech experience, she was able to quickly adapt and embrace this computerized way of doing the real estate business she had left behind so many years ago, and quickly adapted, using technology to her and her clients' advantage.

In late 2007, Jan established her own real estate brokerage business called Gateway Realty & Relocation. Along with helping families buy and sell their personal homes, she knows real estate investing, being a rehabber and a real estate investor herself. Much of her current business involves helping real estate investors purchase properties in the Raleigh, Cary and surrounding Research Triangle Area.
